IT Service Management, based on the UK Office of Government Computing (OCG) IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
Best Practices, has evolved from its initial state into a British Standard (BS 15000) that in turn was
replaced by an International Standard (ISO 20000-2005).
Currently, ITIL Version 3 is being developed. This version strengthens its links with IT Security,
Procurement, Capability Maturity, and Application Support. With the ISO standard, external certification
of organizations can now be conducted.
In this presentation Phil Mustaphi takes a look at IT Service Management and how it fits into this evolving
set of Best Practices and International Standards.
