Emergence of Next Generation Wireless Networks - Driving the Future of Communications (NEW DATE!)

Abstract:

The desire for immediate access and connectivity has driven significant breakthroughs within the networking arena on several fronts. In the wireless domain there are several technologies at play in this regard and the main buzz is the expected migration from 2.5G/3G networks to 4G capable Networks. What are the drivers for this? What is the expected migration path?

There is always a user-side motivation and demand for these advances. The second part of the presentation (a video replay) will focus on the main factors that are driving the need for more advance and intelligent IT systems as a whole. What will the future network have? Areas covered will be video conferencing, virtual teams, call centers and all layers of the information technology network that encompasses both wired and wireless.

Are we driving convergence or divergence? Come along to get the answers.

Biographies

Larkland Morley is a UK Chartered Engineer and 4G Systems Design Team Leader at Nortel Networks. Larkland has worked in information technology implementation as well as research and development in both Ethernet switching and wireless.

Dr. Dixon is a business thinker and futurist. He is Chairman of Global Change Ltd, author of twelve books including Futurewise and Building a Better Business, has spoken to audiences in 50 nations, has given hundreds of radio and TV interviews on major issues and trends, and has been ranked as one of the 20 most influential business thinkers alive today.
